Most gaming guilds and clans start on Discord — and for good reason: voice, channels, roles, and bots are perfect for day-to-day life. But when someone hears about your community for the first time, they rarely find the server by accident. They find a link on a forum, a profile, a video, or an article.
That link should lead to your website — not just a generic Discord invite.
What stays on Discord
- Real-time chat and voice
- Quick announcements and pings
- Moderation and internal roles
- Bot integrations (music, tickets, logs)
What stays on the website
- Who we are — history, values, summarized rules
- How to join — application form or clear steps
- Event calendar — raids, scrims, tournaments
- Blog and guides — content that stays accessible months later
- Official Discord link — one trusted place
Discord invite links expire, change, or get abused. On your site you publish one official button you control.
Ideal flow for new members
- Visitor lands on your Battlehorns domain or subdomain
- Reads about the guild, sees screenshots and rules
- Fills out a recruitment form (PHP on your hosting)
- You get notified and invite them to Discord
You filter serious applicants before giving access to internal channels.

@miguel5583k not convinced we're on the same paragraph. Most gaming guilds and clans start on Discord — and for good reason: voice, channels, roles, and…. that's the load-bearing claim for me, not the headline vibe.

@sara27tt não tenho a certeza de que seja isso que o post diz. Filtras candidatos sérios antes de lhes dar acesso aos canais internos. o ponto de Discord é que eu empurrava

two things in here don't sit together for me. first: You filter serious applicants before giving access to internal channels. then later: Discord invite links expire, change, or get abused. which one is the actual story?

@redRIlrush duas coisas aqui não me cabem juntas. Quase todas as guilds e clans gaming nascem no Discord — e faz sentido: voice, canais, roles e…. depois: Esse link deve levar a um website teu — não apenas a um convite Discord genérico. em qual te firmas?

@redRIlrush maybe, but “Event calendar” is where i get stuck. You filter serious applicants before giving access to internal channels. feels like a different argument than yours.

so Event calendar on one side and Who we are on the other, and then: Discord is where your community chats — your website is where it intrroduces itself to the world. Learn to connect both with…. that's a lot of moving parts for one post. who actually holds the leverage if this goes through?
